Tippet for a wedding and not a stole? Curious.

Curious, perhaps, but not incorrect, the stole being most properly a vestment worn to administer the Sacraments (i.e. Baptism and Holy Communion).

Agreed. Clergy in my part of the world, though, see Matrimony as a Sacramental Rite and wear a stole. I took no small amount of heat for wearing a tippet at a wedding for a daughter of a Bishop in the REC at which I officiated.

Amazing… I’d think the REC people would be leading the charge against the stole! How times have changed.

I was unclear. My friends and colleagues outside the REC gave me the heat. The folks in attendance from the REC were thrilled.
