When change is okay

From 1549, the Book of Common Prayer prescribed three collects to be used on Good Friday. The first two found their way to the United States and into the 1928 Prayer Book unchanged, but the third underwent some revision. Below, see why.

    So we do not wish to pray for them anymore?

      Sure, but I suppose they don’t get special attention as the worst of the worst. Now they’re just lumped in with “all who know thee not as thou art revealed in the Gospel of thy Son.”
