    Whatever happened to black rochets? The scarlet rochet is the proper dress of a DD Oxon. (and was thus regularly worn with choir habit by the late the Very Rev’d Hewlett Johnson, DD, Oxon. at Canterbury Cathedral. A Cantab DD incidentally would wear a scarlet capa clausa (a form of cope sewed closed at the top and bottom but open in the center front

      Agreed! The former Dean of St Paul’s (seen here and here) wears his regularly, and we can see the Bishop of London doing so as well.

      You have inspired a post on Dean Johnson, I think.
